With the May 2016 conversion of Manchester Co-operative Credit Union (1977) Ltd. now complete, this marks our second Credit Union in Jamaica being serviced and supported by our Universa Premier Core Banking Suite. This concludes our 8th successful conversion in the last 2 years with many more Jamaican and North American conversions scheduled for the coming year. A portion of those commitments is expected to increase our presence in other areas of the Caribbean and Central America. Universa is a state-of- the-art, browser-based banking platform, written from the ground up, using the latest industry standard technologies.
After careful evaluation, MCCU opted to convert to the Universa Core Banking System. Universa’s modular architecture allows MCCU to tailor an overall banking solution that best fits the current and future needs of its organization. Universa’s agile, rapid release development process enables smartsolutionTM to translate client business needs and new ideas into customizable system functionalities that are fully under the client’s control through Universa’s security framework. The possibilities for customization are endless and new additions are seamless.
“Very easy to maneuver; very nice and full of functionality,” was the way Mrs. Cynthia Briscoe, General Manager of MCCU described the “live” Universa platform, “Especially as I personally wasn’t fully conversant with all of the technical aspects of it.” She added that “Both the members and I absolutely love the platform’s new iBank System; it looks just as good or better than the commercial banks Internet banking platforms”.
“We are delighted that MCCU has chosen to join our growing family of Credit Unions using the Universa platform to support its member service strategies and invite any financial institution that is looking to upgrade to a modern, flexible and robust core banking platform, at a competitive price, to join our team.” stated Iean Tait, President and CEO, smartsolutionTM.
